EXERCISE #5 
Name: Kicking Drill
Description: Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and hold the suburito in one hand. Extend the weapon straight out to the side, throw a kick, retract your leg and repeat the drill.
Sets and repetitions: Do one sets of 10 repetitions with each leg.
  Martial Arts Benefits: In addition to strengthening your grip, this will also improve your balance and strengthen your kicking skills.
About the author: Frank M. Kushner, who lives in Binghamton, New York, is the head instructor at FMK Karate and Fitness Center.   To do the kicking drill, stand with your feet shoulder width apart and hold the suburito in one hand (not shown). Extend the weapon straight out to the side, throw a kick (1), retract your leg and repeat the drill. Make sure you hold the weapon in both hands when you practice your kicks (2).
