Important Safety Tips for Kids

Don't accept rides from anyone without your parents permission!

1. Know your telephone number and the telephone number of a close friend or relative.

2. Do not take money, toys, candy or other gifts from anyone without your parents okay.

3. If you are touched by anyone in a way that you do not like, get away from them and tell your parents, teacher or policeman.

4. Don't talk to anyone you do not know.

5. Don't answer the door when you are home alone.

6. If you get lost in a store, ask a clerk for help and never leave the store.

7. Always tell your parents who you are playing with and where you will be playing.

8. Walk to and from school with friends and go straight to where you are going.

9. don't keep secrets from your parents - even when it may be something you are afraid to tell them.

10. When you are home by your self and answer the phone, never say that you are home alone. Say, "My mom can't come to the phone right now and she will call you back" and try to get a name and phone number.

11. Do not go to areas where drug selling or using may be taking place.

12. Do not hang out with people that are use or sell drugs and/or guns.

13. Do not pick up drugs, alcohol or guns for any reason.
