GANSEKI  NIDAN
Begin in Natural Stance:

1.

Bring left foot to right, feet together, arms overhead and double down block to the sides.

2.

Lean to the left side then step out with the left foot into kiba dachi as you simultaneously left downblock to the side; right inside/outside block; left middle punch; right middle punch.

3.

Bring the right foot to the left, turn (90 degrees counterclockwise) to face original left and step out with the right foot into kiba dachi and right down block; left inside/outside block; right middle punch; left middle punch; cover right fist with left knifehand; left backhand block (ending perpendicular to the body, out in front).

4.

Right crescent kick to the open hand, step down into kiba dachi (facing original rear) and right front elbow strike; right backfist strike to the face level; left middle punch; right then left middle punches; left down block to the side.

5.

Step through with the right foot into kiba dachi (turning 180 degrees counterclockwise to face the original front); right push punch to the shoulder level; simultaneous right inside/outside and left down blocks; simultaneous left inside/outside and right down blocks; left backfist strike (starting high overhead and end by setting on top of the right fist); left down block to the side; right hook punch.

6.

Cross right foot in front of left; step out with the left foot into kiba dachi (facing original front); left down block to the side; right down block to right side; left hook punch.

7.

Cross left foot in front of the right foot; step out with the right foot into kiba dachi (facing the original front); right down block; cross arms in front (left over right) and double inside/outside blocks (with breathing and tension); left hand goes under the right arm pit and follows with a vertical knifehand block to the front (at 90 degrees to the body) as the right fist pulls back to the left hip.

8.

Step forward with the right foot into a right front stance and right middle punch.

9.

Look back over the left shoulder, Adjust the left foot (turning 180 degrees counterclockwise) into a left front stance (facing the original rear); left down block.

10.

Step forward with the right foot into a right front stance; right middle punch; take off (bring right forearm up as if in a right inside/outside block position).

11.

Push off, JUMP (turning 540 degrees; 1 1/2 revolutions) and land facing the original front on the right foot with the left knee down; lower X-block.

12.

Look to the right; adjust the right foot out to the right (turning 90 degrees clockwise) into a right front stance; right augmented (double) block.

13.

Adjust the left foot out to the left (turning 180 degrees counterclockwise to face original left) into a left front stance; left augmented (double) block.

14.

Step forward with the right foot into a right front stance and do a right spearhand attack (left hand comes under right elbow.

15.

Take off. adjust left foot to right (turning 180 degrees counterclockwise to face original right); step back with the left foot and go down on the left knee; lower X-block.

16.

Open to fists to knifehands; and do a slow upper X-block; rise up and move left foot forward into a left cat stance (on the toes of the left foot).

17.

Catch and bring palms together at the right hip (left palm down, fingertips pointing toward the rear, on top of the right palm with up and fingertips pointing toward the front); step forward with the left foot into a left front stance; release left arm out and follow with a right middle punch.

18.

Bring knifehands back to the right hip ( left hand palm down and under the right hand with palm up; at 90 degrees to each other) as you bring your left foot back into a left cat stance; simultaneously perform an open hand upper X-block.

19.

Press both hands out (palms away); turn hands 180 degrees clockwise so that the palms face away (twist body and just begin to pivot on balls of the feet); left foot comes behind the right foot and the body now turns 180 degrees clockwise (to face the original left).

20.

Pivot 180 degrees clockwise (to face the original right) with the palms still facing away.

21.

Step out with the left foot into kiba dachi (facing original rear) and do a right spearhand attack (palm facing up) to the left side as you bring a left knifehand to your right shoulder (right arm goes underneath the left arm).

22.

The right spearhand drops down and does a right open hand down block to the right side; turn right knifehand palm up; bring the right knifehand to the right shoulder (palm down); thrust attack with the right knifehand (turning the hand palm down) to the attackers eyes.

23.

Left openhand downblock to the left side; turn left knifehand palm up; bring the left knifehand to the left shoulder (palm down); thrust attack with the left knifehand (turning the hand palm down) to the attackers eyes.

24.

Bring the right knifehand to the left shoulder (palm down); follow with a right backhand block to the right side.

25.

Left crescent kick to the right open hand; step down with the left into a kiba dachi (facing the original front); follow with a left front elbow strike.

26.

Perform a large circular right down block as you shift your weight into a left modified straight line front stance (on the ball of the right foot).

27.

Perform a large circular left down block as you shift your weight into a right modified straight line front stance (on the ball of the left foot); look to the front as knifehands come to the right hip; do a slow open hand upper X-block.

28.

Press both hands out (palms away); catch and bring palms together at the right hip as you bring your left foot to your right foot (feet together facing original right).

29.

Look toward the original front and do a left side kick with a simultaneous left arm parry.

30.

Step down with the left foot, turn 90 degrees clockwise (to face original rear); adjust the right foot into a right cat stance; simultaneously (in a sharp, forceful movement) extend both knifehands, palms down, to the lower level; do a slow double inside/outside block with open hands (breathing and tension).

31.

Right front kick; set right foot down by the left foot; adjust left foot back into a kiba dachi (facing the original right) as you right down block to the side.

32.

Take off with the right hand and bring it around, turning 180 degrees clockwise, adjust the right foot into a kiba dachi (facing the original left) as you left down block to the side.

33.

Take off with the left hand and catch (arm parallel to the ground); right foot hooks behind the left foot; go down on the right knee (still holding); drop down on the right forearm and left hand as you do a left side kick to the upper level (toward the original rear).

34.

Bring the left foot down and to the original front (turning 180 degrees clockwise in the process) so that you are down on the right knee and up on the left foot (facing the original front); do a slow right open hand upper block.

35.

Step forward with the right foot and go down on the left knee as you left middle punch.

36. Step forward with the left foot (turn 90 degrees clockwise) into a kiba dachi (facing the original right) as you left down block to the side.
37.

Turn 90 degrees clockwise to face the original rear, into a right front stance; extend the right arm in preparation for a roll; do a right shoulder roll (right arm leads the roll).

38.

Come up from the roll with the feet together and turn 180 degrees counterclockwise to face the original front; step back with the right foot into a left front stance; open hands come to the right hip and follow with an open hand upper X-block.

39.

Do a slow left vertical knifehand block (coming directly down from the upper X-block) to the middle level as the right fist pulls to the right hip.

40.

Right front kick; step forward and down with the right foot into a right front stance as you right middle punch.

41.

Bring the left foot around (in an arc; turning 180 degrees clockwise) into a right front stance (facing the original rear) right arm and fist are still extended.

42.

Left foot comes behind the right knee to form a right ashi dachi (leg stance; crane stance); left open hand covers the right fist (hands are at belt level).

43.

Pivot on feet 180 degrees counterclockwise (to face original front); set left foot down next to the right; adjust the right foot back and go down on the right knee (up on left foot); follow with a lower X-block; separate hands and set them on the ground (on fingertips); look left; look right.

44.

JUMP, turning 180 degrees clockwise, land with the left knee down and up on the right foot (looking toward the original rear); look left; look right.

45.

JUMP, turning 180 degrees counterclockwise, land with the right knee down and up on the left foot, looking toward the original front.

46.

Look left, look right; bring right foot up to the left (feet together) and double upper block.

47.

Double downblock to the sides with KIAI.

48.

Cross arms, step out with the left into Natural Stance.
